Travel
This year’s school will be held on the Evanston campus of Northwestern University. A campus map can be found at
Air
Northwestern is served by both O’Hare international Airport and Midway International Airport. To reach Evanston from these airports, a taxi, public transportation or an airport shuttle may be used. When scheduling your return flight, keep in mind that the school will finish at 3:00pm on Aug. 13.
Taxi
Taxis are generally the quickest way to get to the Evanston Campus. From O’Hare a taxi will take between 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. From Midway a taxi will take 50-60 minutes. The best taxi rates are available by making a reservation with one of the following companies that offer a flat-rate price. To do this, simply call the taxi company after you have picked up your baggage using one of the numbers below or one of the courtesy phones near baggage claim. Rates from O’Hare are typically around $30 and rates from Midway are around $55. (Metered rates are typically 50% higher than these).

- Northshore Cab (847-864-7500)
Public Transportation (the "L")
You can reach the Evanston Campus from either O’Hare or Midway via the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) “L” train. This is by the far the cheapest alternative, but plan to spend at least 1.5 hours on the train (closer to 2 hours from Midway). Directions for taking the L can found here:
The most convenient “L” stop to reach the Slivka Residential College and the IT school is the Noyes St. stop. For those looking to visit downtown Chicago before or after the IT school, the “L” also provides convenient transportation.
Airport Shuttles
GO Airport Express offers shared shuttles from both O’Hare and Midway. Reservations are required to travel to Evanston.
