2nd Workshop on Physical-Layer Methods for Wireless Security - 麻豆传媒AV CNS Conference
The Physical-layer Methods for Wireless Security Workshop will take place during 麻豆传媒AV CNS 2015 in Florence, Italy, on September 30, 2015. CNS is a spin-off of the 麻豆传媒AV INFOCOM conference and is an outstanding forum for cyber security researchers.
Mathematical Tools of Information-Theoretic Security Workshop
This workshop aims to foster interactions between researchers with diverse interests in security problems using mathematical tools from classical and quantum information theory, coding theory, computer science, and differential privacy analysis. Specifically, we will bring together active researchers in the areas of information-theoretic security, quantum information, quantum cryptography, biometrics, codes for confidentiality, authentication, and privacy, covert and stealth communications, and fundamental privacy vs utility tradeoffs.

2015 North American School of Information Theory
The School of Information Theory will bring together over 100 graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and leading researchers for four action-packed days of learning, stimulating discussions, professional networking and fun activities, all on the beautiful campus of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and in the nearby beach town of La Jolla.
Workshop on Sensing and Analysis of High-Dimensional Data (SAHD 2015)
Workshop on Sensing and Analysis of High-Dimensional Data
The fifth workshop on Sensing and Analysis of High-Dimensional Data (SAHD 2015) will be hosted by Duke University on July 27-29, 2015. All attendees are invited to present original research.
The sensing and analysis of high-dimensional data is a multidisciplinary research area that includes compressed sensing, high dimensional statistics, and machine learning. This workshop will bring together world-class researchers working in this area from the fields of mathematics, statistics, engineering, and computer science.

Information and Entropy in Biological Systems Workshop
Ever since Shannon initiated research on information theory in 1948, there have been hopes that the concept of information could serve as a tool to help systematize and unify work in biology. The link between information and entropy was noted very early on, and it suggested that a full thermodynamic understanding of biology would naturally involve the information processing and storage that are characteristic of living organisms. However, the subject is full of conceptual pitfalls for the unwary, and progress has been slower than initially expected. Premature attempts at 鈥榞rand syntheses鈥 have often misfired. But applications of information theory and entropy to specific highly focused topics in biology have been increasingly successful, such as:
鈥 the maximum entropy principle in ecology,
鈥 Shannon and R茅nyi entropies as measures of biodiversity,
鈥 information theory in evolutionary game theory,
鈥 information and the thermodynamics of individual cells.
Because they work in diverse fields, researchers in these specific topics have had little opportunity to trade insights and take stock of the progress so far. The aim of the workshop is to do just this.
