Multiple research positions in IT and nonlinear fiber optics at TU Eindhoven
We are hiring 1 postdoctoral researcher and one fully-funded PhD student to work on the project FUN-NOTCH: Fundamentals of the Nonlinear Optical Channel. Both positions are available for four years and are in the Signal Processing Systems (SPS) group at the Technical University of Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
FUN-NOTCH is a 5-year research grant financed byÌýthe European Research Council (ERC Starting Grant). The PI is Dr. A. Alvarado and includesÌýtwo fully-funded PhD studentsÌýand two postdoctoral researchers. Some of the problems/topics that thisÌýprojectÌýwill address are discrete- and continuous-time channel models inÌýthe highly nonlinear regime, information theory and channel capacityÌýanalysis of theÌýnonlinear fiber optical channel, modulation, signalÌýshaping, and error control coding.
TU Eindhoven offers an extensive package of fringe benefits (e.g., excellent technicalÌýinfrastructure, the possibility of child care, and excellent sportsÌýfacilities).
