Call for EiC Nominations for the new Â鶹´«Ã½AV Journal on Selected Topics in Information Theory (JSTIT)
The Â鶹´«Ã½AV Journal on Special Topics in Information Theory (JSTIT) is a new journal in the process of being launched by the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Information Theory Society in early 2020. It will publish high quality technical papers on all aspects of information theory, including intersections of information theory with fields such as machine learning, statistics, genomics, neuroscience, theoretical computer science, and physics, as well as important and timely topics firmly within the domain of information theory.

JSTIT is administered by a Steering Committee, whose founding members are Jeffrey Andrews, Rob Calderbank, Muriel Medard, H. Vincent Poor, and Rudieger Urbanke.  The Steering Committee requests nominations for the first Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of JSTIT. 

The selected EIC would assume this important role on or around Jan. 1, 2019 for a term of three years.   The successful candidate will appoint and oversee a small Editorial Board of Senior Editors, who will assist the EIC in mentoring Guest Editorial teams for each special issue.  The EIC’s duties also include soliciting and vetting proposals for special issue topics and ensuring a high standard of quality for the journal.

·¡±ô¾±²µ¾±²ú¾±±ô¾±³Ù²â:Ìý The successful candidate will have a strong record of research excellence in information theory and related fields, and have demonstrated excellence in previous leadership activities.  The candidate is expected to have high professional stature and previous editorial board experience.

Selection Process:  The steering committee will review all the received nominations and select the EIC.  The EIC appointment will be subject to Board of Governors approval.
