A Post-doctoral position in computational biology is available at the , , University of Arizona, Tucson. We are looking for a candidate with strong background in information theory, statistics, and basic knowledge of genetics. The researcher will be working on information theoretical and bioinformatics aspects of the NSF funded project .
Start Date: January 2010
Duration: 1 or 2 years
Annual Salary: ~$35,000
The information theoretical problems are related graphical models, Boolean networks, Boolean satisfiability problems, and codes on graphs.
The bioinformatics work includes design of experiments for inferring functional patterns of gene interactions, and working with yeast databases such as SGD (extracting data necessary for creating and modeling genetic wiring diagrams).
