Lloyd Welch, an esteemed mathematician and electrical engineer, whose research career has had a profound impact on digital communications, coding theory, and signal processing, passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 96.

The Sweden Vehicular Technology/Communications/Information Theory (VT/COM/IT) joint chapter has been named the 2023 Chapter of the Year.

Antonia Wachter-Zeh received the 2023 Johann-Philipp-Reis Prize for her exceptional contributions to cryptography and coding theory.
