Â鶹´«Ã½AV Information Theory Society is calling for proposals for the International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT) and the Information Theory Workshop (ITW), both of which are the Society’s flagship conferences. They are our annal opportunity for Society members to meet, and to make friends also beyond the Society. They have also become the cradle of many collaborations which turned to be remarkable work in the area. Hosting an ISIT / ITW not only proliferates this fundamental research which underpins digital technologies, but also promotes the research impact of the hosting city and its country.

Our Conferences:
Interests of both ISIT and ITW cover all areas of information theory, from Shannon theory, coding theory and techniques, communication theory and systems, cryptography and security, to detection and estimation. In recent years, the Society is keen on promoting cross-disciplinary research with information theory, including bioinformatics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, quantum information theory, etc. Starting from , the Society supports the organization of pilot workshops at ISIT to welcome more participants, bringing newcomers to our conferences and Society.
ISIT This larger flagship conference usually attracts 700 to 1000 participants around the world. It usually takes place during the end of June and the beginning of July. The hosting city shall not only have venue of such capacity, but also be equipped with an international airport nearby.
ITW This is a smaller event gathering 150 to 300 participants around the world. Each workshop can possess some particular themes or emphasis. It usually takes place in the fourth quarter of the year. However, there can be two editions of ITW in the same year. In this case, one can be organized in the second quarter of the year.

Geographical Rotation:
Both the ISITs and ITWs are alternated by geographical rotation which is primarily pivoted at North America, Europe and Middle East, and Asia Pacific and India. They take turns to be held with some regularity in each of the regions, with a gap of at least one year between consecutive events in the same region. The Society tries to ensure that researchers and professionals can enjoy equal convenience in participating our conferences, also in the hope that information theory research can reach and benefit most parts of the world.

Why Organizing a Society Conference:
Intellectual Exchange ISITs / ITWs provide a platform for researchers and professionals to share their latest findings and ideas in the area of information theory. In particular, this can also help the regional postgraduate students meet with our international community, encountering the high quality research and researchers.
Advance the Frontiers ISITs / ITWs aim to showcase the latest advancements in information theory and its applications across various disciplines. ISIT pilot workshops encourage cross-pollination of ideas by facilitating interactions between researchers working in different areas.
