Student and WITHITS events at ISIT
WITHITS (Women in Information Theory) Event at ISIT 2019
This year's WITHITS event "Tooting our horns: Creating research pitches" will be held on Monday July 8, 13:00-14:30 in Salon Monge during ISIT, and we hope to see you there! The event will be focused around learning and practicing our research pitches. Networking and pitching our research is an important skill, but few of us get formal training or advice how to do it well. In this event, Tara Javidi will share advice about how to give a good research pitch, along with good and bad examples. Especially as WITHITS is the first event of the week on Monday, we believe this event will greatly help not only to build a support network for participants, but also to give participants a safe space to practice their research pitches, and to build confidence for networking with others at the conference through the rest of the week. Participants will have opportunity to practice with one another and also to share examples with the group for constructive feedback. We look forward to seeing you!
Meet the Shannon Lecturer at ISIT 2019
The Student and Outreach Subcommittee is proud to present the Meet-the-Shannon-Lecturer event at ISIT to celebrate the career of the 2019 Claude E. Shannon Award winner Erdal Arıkan in an exclusive interview on Thursday July 11, 13:00-14:30 in Salon Monge.
