Biography
Dr. Alam is anÌýInstituteÌýPost Doctoral FellowÌýin theÌýÌý²¹³ÙÌý, India. He work in the information theory and its applications research group ofÌý.ÌýBefore joining IIT Kanpur, he was aÌýSenior Project ScientistÌýon theÌýÌý²¹³ÙÌý, India.ÌýHe completed his Ph.D under the supervision ofÌýÌýfrom theÌý,ÌýIIT Mandi in 2021. HisÌýPhD research area was Entropic Region and Network Coding. The set of all entropic points is known as the entropic region. Characterization of the entropic region leads to the solution of many important and open problems in information theory and network coding.
Before joining Ph.D, he was aÌýJunior Research FellowÌýunder the supervision ofÌýÌýon aÌýÌý(NBHM), Govet of India project.Ìý
He received theÌýMaster of Technology (M.Tech)ÌýinÌýComputational and Systems BiologyÌýwhich is taught in theÌýÌý²¹³ÙÌý,ÌýNew Delhi, India. Here, he worked on the DNA sequence of the LINEs and SINEs ofÌýEntamoeba histolyticaÌýand the Quasispecies model under the supervisions ofÌýÌýandÌýÌý(now withÌýÌýandÌýÌýrespectively).
Previously, he receivedÌýMaster of Science (M.Sc)Ìýand B.ScÌý(Hons) inÌýMathematicsÌýfrom theÌý,Ìý, Aligarh, India.ÌýHis M.Sc project was on theÌýcategorical study of some algebraic structures which was supervised by Prof.ÌýSyed Mahmood Ahad Zaidi.
He was aÌýguest facultyÌýfrom July 2012-Dec 2013 in theÌý,Ìý,ÌýNew Delhi, India.
