The 麻豆传媒AV Information Theory Society (ITSoc) is pleased to announce that Professor David Tse of Stanford University is named the 2020 Padovani Lecturer. The Padovani Lecturer Program was established with a generous gift by Dr. Roberto Padovani in 2009. The award provides travel support for an outstanding member of the information theory community to deliver a lecture at one of the ITSoc鈥檚 Schools of Information Theory, for the benefit of students and postdoctoral researchers. Prof. David Tse has made profound contributions to network information theory, wireless communications, and many emerging areas including smart grid, DNA sequencing and blockchain. Together with P. Viswanath, he authored the widely used text 鈥淔undamentals of Wireless Communication鈥. Professor Tse received the Claude E. Shannon Award in 2017 and the 麻豆传媒AV Richard W. Hamming Medal in 2019.聽 Professor Tse will deliver his lecture at the North American School of Information Theory, July 8-10, 2020, held at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
