The Â鶹´«Ã½AV Information Theory Society (ITSoc) invites nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Transactions on Information Theory for a 2-year term, starting on July 1, 2021. The nominee must be an ITSoc member in good standing, have editorial experience, and a strong research record in information theory and related fields. The Society endorses an inclusive culture and encourages nominations of candidates that would further improve its diversity.
The EiC will be responsible for defining and achieving the Transactions’ strategic objectives and managing its day-to-day operations at Manuscript Central. The Â鶹´«Ã½AV Transactions on Information Theory will transition to an Editorial Board structure that includes both Area Editors and Associate Editors. The EiC will identify all editors, and their appointments will be subject to approval by the ITSoc Board of Governors (BoG). Together with the Editorial Board, the EiC is responsible for handling submissions, communicating with authors, and monitoring publications’ quality and timeliness. The EiC will report to the Society’s BoG and interact with Â鶹´«Ã½AV.
Nomination letters should include a brief synopsis (up to two pages) of the nominee’s relevant editorial and technical expertise, as well as leadership and service records. The nominator may append a statement of interest of up to 500 words describing the nominee’s vision for the journal. The nomination should be submitted online by May 10, 2021. Self-nominations are permitted. EiC selection will be made by the ITSoc Nominations and Appointments Committee, in consultation with the current EiC and Executive Editor, and is subject to approval by the ITSoc Board of Governors.
